🐾 Adoption Policy

Applications must be completed and approved prior to adoption. A valid photo ID and an adoption photo are required at the time of adoption.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to adopt.

M&B Farm & Hatchery Inc. reserves the right to refuse any adoption. When an adoption does not work out, it can be a challenging experience for both the pet and the adoptive family and may make future placement for that animal more challenging. For this reason, we reserve the right to decline any adoption we believe is not in the animal's and/or the adopter's best interest.

A refusal is not a judgment of the applicant, but rather an informed decision based on our experience ensuring successful, lifelong placements. Our goal is always to make the best possible match for every animal and every family.

Why adopt from us?

💚 How We’re Different

We’re not like most rescues — and we’re proud of that.
M&B Farm & Hatchery Inc. is not an adopt-for-profit organization. What this means is simple: we never take in an animal with the goal of adopting them back out as quickly as possible.

Instead, we take the time to truly get to know each animal — their likes, dislikes, personality, and behavior.
We carefully observe whether a dog gets along with other dogs or cats, or whether a cat is comfortable around other animals. We study each animal’s temperament and note any signs of aggression, fear, or anxiety so that we can help them heal, grow, and find the best possible forever home.

🐕 Our Specialization

We also specialize in farm and working dog breeds such as the Anatolian Shepherd, Black Mouth Cur, and Great Pyrenees, just to name a few.
We spend countless hours determining which dogs are best suited to work around ducks, chickens, goats, cows, and pigs. Each dog is evaluated to discover their natural talents and instincts, helping them thrive in environments where they can do what they were born to do — protect, guide, and love.

🩺 Our Commitment to Health

Another key difference is how we care for our animals.
Unlike many shelters that aren’t required to administer vaccines such as parvo or other preventatives, we make sure every dog and cat receives a full veterinary checkup.

Deworming and flea/tick prevention are started immediately.

Heartworm prevention or treatment is provided as needed.

Vaccinations are kept up to date — with puppies receiving multiple rounds (five so far, with the final round at 12 weeks), and kittens also receiving several rounds before adoption.

Every animal we rescue and adopt is also microchipped. Lost pets have a much greater chance of making it home safely thanks to this vital step.

💚 Our Promise

What matters most to us is that every animal adopted from M&B Farm & Hatchery Inc. is as healthy and ready for a new life as possible. While some health conditions in strays can’t be known at intake, we go above and beyond to ensure your new family member has the best possible start.

Every adopter receives a complete health record, including vaccination dates and vaccine serial numbers, so your veterinarian has everything they need to continue care seamlessly.

Because of this level of dedication and care, our adoption fees may be higher than some other shelters — but that’s because the health, safety, and well-being of every animal always come first with us
